Tour Description
Bale mountains national park is the second highest pick in Ethiopia next to Semien mountains national park. It’s altitude is 4,377m above sea level. The main attractions of the park are its wild alpine scenery and exceptionally diverse fauna, which includes the world’s largest population of the endangered Ethiopian wolf and mountain Nyala, and the unique Bale monkey. Bale mountains national park also offers some of the finest bird watching in Ethiopia.
Tour Highlights
Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Air port
Wow Ethiopia Tours representative will meet and take you to your hotel. In the Afternoon you will make a city four. Overnight Hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Dinsho
You leave Addis Ababa for Dinsho some 400 kms to the south east. Dinsho is where the park HQ is located and it is from this that we start our trekking on the next day. This afternoon, there is a good chance of seeing a few mammals including the Mountain Nyala and Menelik's Bushbuck. Overnight Lodge.
Day 3: Dinsho - Fincha Abbera
From Dinsho you will trek to Fincha Abbera falls. It may take us about 6:00 hours, and today there is no uphill walking and this makes it an easy day. Camping at Fincha Abbera.
Day 4: Fincha Abbera - Wassama
You will trek from Fincha Abbera to Wassama via Meraro. We may walk for about 9 hours. Today, there is a good chance of seeing a lot of birds including different birds of prey. Camping at Wassama.
Day 5: Wassama - Gebre Guracha
You make our way from Wassama to Gebre Guracha Lake via Mount Batu (4307 m), the second highest peak in the Bale Mountain. An average walking hours would be 9:00 hours. Camping at Gebre Guracha.
Day 6: Drive to Goba
Today you will have an easy day. We only walk for about 3:00 hours up to Konteth peak, where we meet our vehicle. Then, we will be transferred to hotel in Goba. Overnight Hotel.
Day 7:Drive back to Addis Ababa
Overnight Hotel.
Day 8: Departure
Fly back to home.
